As of earlier this morning, Hurricane Idalia is approximately 685 miles southwest of Beaufort, SC. A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for Edisto Beach, as well as a Storm Surge Watch. As of the update we received earlier this afternoon, Tropical Storm Idalia is located approximately 900 miles south-southwest of coastal South Carolina, and predictions are we will be impacted by heavy rain, tropical storm force winds, and the possibility of tornados. Due to the July 4th Holiday, trash pickup has been pushed from Friday to this Saturday (7/08/23). Regularly scheduled pickup service will resume on Monday (7/10/23). Due to the quick turnaround time, carts will not be rolled back to the residences until after the Monday trash service.

Dominion has reported a power outage on Edisto Beach. The expected restoration time is 5:30 pm.

The Town has learned that an AT&T fiber line on Edisto Island has been cut, causing cellular phone service outages. We do not currently have an estimated time for repair. Please check back for updates as we monitor the situation.

Utility bills have been mailed. If you do not receive your bill, please call Teri Bloomingdale, Utilities Clerk, at 843-869-2505, ext. 201. Payment is due by July 7, 2023. Late penalties will be posted to accounts on July 10, 2023.
