Hurricane Ian 9/30/2022 Midnight Update

9/30/2022 12:00 A.M./HURRICANE IAN IMPACTS:  As the storm approaches, the National Weather Service (NWS) continues to track Ian. As of midnight,  wind threats are predicted to be tropical force winds (39-73 mph) with low-end hurricane force winds. 74+ mph gusts increasing through Friday evening. Expect minor structural damage, major coastal flooding, heavy rains (4-6 inches), and moderate to major beach erosion. Storm surge 4-6 feet (above ground level) with greatest impacts at high tide around noon. Power outages expected as well as downed limbs/trees. Rip currents are expected. The trend is the storm continues tracking eastward. Avoid travel on Friday.
