A loan/grant has been obtained from the Catawba Council of Governments and the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control to provide $100,000 in grant funding to clean up the contamination.  Loan closing was July 6, 2010.  The Town received the first disbursement of $43,503.18 toward the grant.  The Town has received a second disbursement of $124,381 . Sod and landscaping have been completed.  Fence construction will begin March 24, 2011. The Town is waiting for the final paperwork from DHEC to closeout the loan/grant. A ribbon cutting ceremony is planned in June 18, 2011 with fun, festivities and free food (local shrimp, hotdogs)  for all that will showcase Edisto's shrimping heritage.
