Town Council Goals and Accomplishments 2009
Councilman Mann received his government institute diploma from Kevin Johnson, Mayor of the City of Manning during the Municipal Association of South Carolina's Hometown, S.C. Legislative Day in Columbia February 16, 2011. The Institute is a program of the Municipal Association of South Carolina that gives municipal officials a strong foundation in the operation of local government. Participants learn about the role of elected officials and administrative staff and the relationships municipal officials have with other local governments, the state and federal government. The Institute includes two day-long sessions and three evening satellite broadcasts. 
Councilmember Larry Hutto from the Town of Edisto Beach graduated from the Municipal Elected Officials Institute of Government on June 17. Graduates received their certificates during the Municipal Association of South Carolina’s 71st Annual Meeting. Mayor Burley L. Lyons is also a graduate of the institute.
